Immunological tolerance
Induction of immunological tolerance is crucial in several circumstances such as: allogeneic bone marrow or solid organ transplantation, autoimmune diseases, allergy, and gene therapy. The major goal of our research is to study the mechanisms responsible for the induction and maintenance of peripheral tolerance by regulatory T cells (Tregs), tolerogenic dendritic cells (DC), and immunoregulatory factors such as IL-10
