Neural Stem Cells
Our team has pioneered the field of neural stem cells and has been involved in the initial isolation of stem cells from the adult mammalian brain. In 1999, it has contributed the first report on the isolation, expansion establishment and transplantation of human fetal epigenetic neural stem cells lines. Recently, this group has described the capacity of neural stem cells of both murine and human origin to undergo transgermal differentiation and to give rise to cells that belong to non-neural lineages, namely mesodermal derivative such as skeletal muscle and hemopoietic cells.
