Subject area: Gene therapy for hemoglobinopathies (preclinical studies)
Description: A position for a post-doctoral fellow is available at HSR-TIGET (Unit of Gene Transfer in Stem Cells) to work on a project aimed at developing lentiviral vectors for globin expression and preclinical models for gene therapy of thalassemia. Model systems will include thalassemic mutant mice and thalassemic patients hematopoietic stem cells.
Requirements: Ph.D./M.D. degree, strong background in molecular and cellular biology with experience in qualified research laboratories.
Start date: September 2007
Salary or grant: Based on experience and seniority.
