Type of Position: Fellowship
Subject area: Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology
Requirements: PhD/Laurea and expertise in cell biology and/or work with mice. Experience with primary neuronal cultures represents a plus. Strong motivation in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal/cell functions.
Description: We investigate the role of Rho GTPases and connected molecular networks in neuronal development, and in cell migration. We found that deletion or downregulation of Rac genes profoundly affects neuronal and brain development. A fellowship is available for the characterization of the role of Rac GTPases in synaptic development. The successful applicant will use primary neuronal cultures from wildtype and knockout mice to study the molecular mechanisms underlying synaptic development.
Start date: Immediately available
Duration: One year, renewable
Salary: Based on experience
