The comprehensive Institutional Scientific Report is published on a yearly basis and contains a display of the scientific contributions originating intramurally from basic as well as clinical research activities. The volume comprises eight general areas: Functional Genomics, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases, Immunology, Infectious Diseases and Clinical Oncology, Neurosciences, Gene and Stem Cell Therapy, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Department, Surgery and Intensive Care, Imaging,
Core Facilities, each subdivided into subsections, reflecting the departmental organization of the Institution. Beside the existing
Departments and Programs, the Scientific Report illustrates research carried out by clinical research units belonging to the areas of Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases, Cardiology, General Surgery, Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. At the end of each subsection there is a reference list covering the last three years of scientifc production by the groups operating in the related units. The Institutional Scientifc Report is an important tool for the overall visibility of the scientic activities of the San Raffaele Scientific Institute. It is a user-friendly, logically organised description of the entire body of research carried out intramurally, which can be accessed both by researchers and by lay people.
