Type of position: A Pre-doctoral fellowship is immediately available at San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Milano, in the Unit of ß Cell Biology, Diabetes Research Institute.

Subject area: The laboratory is focused on studying ß cell replacement in diabetes.

Requirements: The ideal candidate is seeking a long-term commitment. He/she is a young motivated and enthusiastic researcher, strongly committed to undertake a PhD program in molecular medicine. A background in molecular biology, cell biology and animal handling is appreciated.

Description: The project will be focused on the identification of novel genetic pathways regulating the development and the biological behavior of pancreas stem cells.

Start date: September 2008

Duration: One year renewable
