The San Raffaele Biomedical Science Park (SRBSP) in Milan, Italy, comprises the San Raffaele Research Institute, the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele (USR), and the San Raffaele Hospital. It is one of the largest biomedical science parks in Europe. The SRBSP is renown as a leading research structure in the field of Molecular Medicine in Italy and worldwide. The mission of the SRBSP is integration and interdisciplinarity for excellence in teaching, innovation in research, and optimal patients care.
The International Postdoctoral Programme was recently launched for the development and the support of a growing postdoctoral community comprising highly competitive national and non-national fellows. The programme is supported by the Scientific Director, the Scientific Community and the European Commission (Seventh Framework COFUND Programme). Being enrolled into the Programme offers a unique opportunity to be trained in cutting-edge research topics and state-of-the art techniques in a highly supportive, intensely collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, exposing fellows to both academic and corporate settlements.
Current fields of research on campus are Molecular Oncology, Neuroscience, Genetics and Cell Biology, Immunology, Transplantation and Infectious Diseases, Metabolic and Cardiovascular Sciences, Regenerative Medicine Stem Cells and Gene Therapy, Translational Genomics and Bioinformatics, and Experimental Imaging.
In line with the commitment to a life-long training of the future generation of scientists and science-related professionals, the programme offers postdocs not only to gain new research skills, but also be exposed to the worlds or scientific writing, communication, report preparation, grant writing, patent applications and project management.
Last but not least, the city of Milan offers an active, cultural and international environment, conveniently located near some of the most important Italian historical sites including Venice and Florence, and within a two-hour drive from the Mediterranean coasts and the Alps.
