- How can I enter the hSR International Postdoctoral Programme (hSR IPP)? Entering the hSR International Postdoctoral Programme is possible only by completing an application form and by undergoing all steps of the selection procedure. ^ top
- Are there postdoctoral positions at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute outside the hSR IPP? Postdoctoral positions outside the Programme are potentially available throughout the year. Interested candidates should contact Principal Investigators (PIs) directly. ^ top
- What academic title is required to apply to the postdoctoral Programme? Typical applicants hold a Ph.D. title. However, candidates with at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience (“experienced scientists”) could also apply. ^ top
- I already have postdoctoral training. Am I eligible to apply? You are welcome to apply to our postdoctoral Programme, provided that your Ph.D. was awarded no more than four years prior to the application date. ^ top
- Are Non-European candidates eligible to apply to the hSR International Postdoctoral Programme? There are no citizenship restrictions for admission to the hSR International Postdoctoral Programme in the “incoming mobility” path. ^ top
- Is there any age limit for taking part in the selection? There is no age limit, but your Ph.D. must have been awarded no more than four years prior to the application date. ^ top
- I was awarded my Ph.D. 5 years ago; will you take into account a career break due to maternity leave, in order to make me eligible? Yes, women with children can claim one additional year per child (up to a maximum of three years). Paternity leave will also be considered. ^ top
- I will receive my degree in the next weeks/months. Am I eligible to apply? You can apply even if you have not yet received your Ph.D. degree, provided that you graduate within one month of your application. ^ top
- When is the call for selections? Selections generally take place once a year. However, specific deadlines will be announced on the website. ^ top
- How can I submit my application? Submission is possible only through our website, by completing an application form that will be made available on the website when the Call is open. You will be required to submit 2 reference letters together with the application form. ^ top
- Who is in charge of providing the referees with the template for reference letters? Candidates are in charge to inform the referees of their application and provide them with the appropriate template that can be downloaded from the application area on the hSR IPP web site. ^ top
- May I submit the reference letters on behalf of my referees? No, your referees should e-mail directly the reference letters to postdoc_info@hsr.it. Reference letters sent by the candidates will not be taken into consideration. ^ top
- How do I know if my application is complete (i.e. if reference letters have been received by the hSR-IPPC?) One week before the deadline you will receive an email alerting you that one or both referees have not sent in their letters. ^ top
- When will I be informed about my inclusion in the shortlist of candidates that will be invited to the personal interview? About 2 weeks after the deadline of submission all candidates will receive a feedback on the outcome of the first phase of selection. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to contact a hosting lab of interest and submit a 2-page research project according to the topic/title agreed upon by the PI. ^ top
- Can I contact the PI in order to write the requested research project proposal? Yes you should contact the relevant PI directly and agree on a topic/title for the research project proposal. ^ top
- Where do I find the list of PIs offering a position in their lab? The list of PIs offering a position is available in the application area of the hSR IPP web site. ^ top
- How much time will I have to write the research project? Candidates will be given 2 weeks to write the project. ^ top
- Can I change the choice of hosting lab at the time of interview? Yes, it is possible. ^ top
- What does it mean to be included in the reserve list (list B)? The top 20 ranking candidates will be asked to submit a research project, as described above. The 10 next-ranking candidates will be advised that they may be asked to submit a research project in case of drop-outs from the shortlist. ^ top
- Is it possible to have a telephone/Skype interview? Telephone/Skype interviews are not foreseen. However, the committee might consider this possibility if there will be special, unexpected impediments to travelling. The Committee discourages this kind of interviews. ^ top
- Will there be interviews with PIs? Yes, at the time of the interview candidates should arrange to meet with potential advisors? ^ top
- Is there any fellowship/scholarship/stipend for international applicants? Selected candidates will be enrolled under a Co.Co.Pro. research contract, according to EU regulations, regardless of their nationality. ^ top
- Is there a template of the application form? An example of the application form is available on our website. ^ top
- I am a Non-Italian applicant. Must I know Italian to take part in the selection? No. The official language of the programme is English. ^ top
- When will the Postoctoral training start? Suitable applicants will be given up to 6months from the acceptance into the Programme to start research activity. ^ top
- Are there any tuition fees to be paid?
